Exporting Raymond
IMPACT held a screening of Exporting Raymond on November 15, 2010 at the West End Cinema.
The film follows the creator of the hit TV series, “Everybody Loves Raymond”, as he attempts to translate the show into a Russian sitcom. The event included a special Q&A with creator/director Philip Rosenthal after the screening.
Freakonomics: The Movie
A special screening of Freakonomics, in conjunction with the Washington Post, was held at Landmark’s E Street Cinema on Monday, September 27th, 2010.
The film, directed by Alex Gibney, explores the hidden side of everything. The screening included a Q&A session moderated by The Washington Post’s Steven Pearlstein with producer Chad Troutwine and other special guests. Client 9: The Rise and Fall of Eliot Spitzer
IMPACT held a screening of Client 9 on November 8, 2010 at the West End Cinema. The film chronicles the rise and fall of disgraced ex-Governor Eliot Spitzer.
Impact Arts + Film Fund and filmmaker Susan Koch hosted a post-screening reception with the Academy Award winning director, Alex Gibney, at the Mayflower Hotel.
Gerrymandering
The Washington premiere of Gerrymandering took place on Thursday, June 10th, 2010 at Landmark's E Street Cinema. The premiere was presented by Impact Arts + Film Fund and Green Screen Film Company.
A Q&A took place after the film with special guest Arnold Schwarzenegger and featured Congressman John Tanner, Congressman Martin Frost and the filmmaker Jeff Reichert. The Washington Post’s own Jonathan Capehart moderated the Q&A.
Winter's Bone
IMPACT partnered with Save Screen on the Green to host the Washington, DC screening of the Academy Award nominated film Winter's Bone at the E Street Cinema on May 4, 2010.
The film follows the journey of a fearless girl in her attempts to find her drug-dealing father while maintaining the structure of the rest of her family. A Q&A session with director Debra Granik followed the screening.
Four Lions
In October 2010, IMPACT hosted a screening of Four Lions, directed by Chris Morris.
Following the screening, a reception with the filmmaker was held at Co Co Sala.
Casino Jack and the United States of Money
IMPACT hosted the screening of Casino Jack, directed by Alex Gibney. The film follows the exploits of the political career of Jack Abramoff.
Policy makers and activists, including Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, were in attendance.
